Nakota G. Kennedy of Lake Isabella born July 18, 1936 passed away peacefully surrounded by family on February 1, 2014. Nakota was born in Hartford CT and moved to California as a child where she fell in love with the Kern River Valley.
She was a long time member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She loved to paint. She had a great love for animals, fed and housed the homeless, and cared for the elderly. Gardening was her greatest passion.
Nakota is preceded in Death by her husband of 42 years, Richard Eugene Kennedy, and 3 sons Richard E. Kennedy Jr., James A. Johnson & John F. Johnson.
She is survived by one daughter, Gail Y. Browning and her husband Paul, and 4 sons Robert L. Johnson, William S. Johnson, Edward E. Kennedy and wife Cottie, & Rudolf A. Kennedy along with 20 Grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday February 8, 2014 at 1:00pm at the home of Gail & Paul Browning.
