Nancy Ann Echenique Ansolabehere 1941 ~ 2013 All things have their season, in their times all things pass under heaven. A time to be born and a time to die. A time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted. Ecclesiastes 3:1-2. Nancy Echenique Ansolabehere was born October 25, 1941, in Bakersfield, California, to John P. Echenique and Ann Echenique. She attended St. Francis Catholic School, Garces Memorial High School, and Bakersfield College. While at Garces, she met Gilbert Ansolabehere, who she would later marry and have five children. Nancy was a gourmet cook who liked to entertain, decorate, garden, dance, and listen to music. Once the children were raised and gone, she became very passionate and interested in politics, public affairs, and writing editorials (many of which were published in the Bakersfield Californian). She was a woman with a big heart, a woman who did not know a stranger and who would help you however she could. Nancy went home to the Lord peacefully in her sleep on April 6th and will be most fondly remembered for her smile, her witty sense of humor, and her unforgettable laugh. She was preceded in death by her father, John P. Echenique; her mother, Ann Addison; stepfather, Fred Addison; sons, Jeff and Richard Ansolabehere; and brother-in-law, Loren Hauck. Nancy is survived by her children, John (Cheri) Ansolabehere, Avon (John) Goyeneche, and Alysia (Brandon) Stevens; and her sister, Betsy Hauck; her 6 grandchildren, Ashley Ansolabehere, Alexis and Nicholas Goyeneche, Zain, and Brody and Enzley Stevens; aunt, Beverly Echenique; niece, Natalie Ruiz; and nephews, Kirk and Martin Ansolabehere; as well as many cousins and close friends. Pallbearers will be Kirk and Martin Ansolabehere, Tommy Echenique, Dennis, Brian, and Eric Walker. Honorary pallbearers are Patrick Johns and Andre Echenique. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 16, 2013, from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Greenlawn Memorial Chapel, 3700 River Blvd. Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, April 17, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Francis Church, 900 H Street.
