Obituary Condolences Gallery

Nancy departed us peacefully, to begin her spiritual journey with her parents to be placed into the hands of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Nancy was born to Tina Mae and Charlie Walker in Medina, Texas. After the death of her mother, she was raised by her Uncle and his wife John and Mary McGrew, who resided in Houston Texas. Nancy was married to David Estes for 16 years and gave birth to four children. She was a loving mother to her four children teaching them the importance of morals and values needed to become productive and to lead happy lives. Our mother enjoyed dancing with us children doing the Jitterbug, Texas Two-Step, and the Cotton-Eyed Joe. Our mother also enjoyed traveling to see her sisters and brothers, going on cruises, going to casinos, and traveling to the coast.
Nancy obtained a degree in Administrative Management at Houston Community College. Nancy was proud of her years as the Director of Communications at Hermann Hospital & the University of Texas Medical Center, where she gave 12 years of service and received many awards. She then moved to Bakersfield, California to be closer to her family. She worked for Frames Telephone Answering Service as the Manager of Operations for 15 years. She volunteered for the Local Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA Telethon) for 10 years as the production supervisor where she won three awards for her service. She retired in 1993 to care for her Mother (Aunt Mary McGrew).
She leaves behind her legacy of her four children; Chynthia (Jerome Deaver), John Estes (Rhonda), Madeleine (Abel Hermosa), and Nancy Provence as well as eight grandchildren; Amanda (Joey Guerrero), Melissa Provence, David Estes II, Abel Hermosa Jr., Thomas Provence, Darah Bybee, Darcie Bybee, and Chloe Parkins, and seven great-grandchildren; Mason, Jordynn, Donavan, Devahnie, Leah, and Brynlee, whom she adored. Nancy also leaves behind her beloved siblings; Tootie, Charlsie, Jackie, Elayne, Charlie, and Debbie. She will also be joined by her siblings; RL, Wanda, Mary Ellen, and Faye on her spiritual Journey to the Lord. Also left to mourn are numerous extended family members and close friends.
