Nancy Sue Mills passed away peacefully on 2/20/2014 surrounded by her loving family. Nancy
was born in Yakima, Washington, grew up in Colorado and moved to Bakersfield in 1966. It was in Bakersfield she met her soul-mate Fred Mills. Their connection was instant and they were inseparable from the moment they met. Nancy worked as a librarian, driving the book mobile all over Kern County, as she supported Fred through Chiropractic College. She was his motivation, inspiration, and the love of Fred's life. She loved nature, stars, flowers, music and her family. She loved her children greatly. Nancy loved to watch Cary participate and coach football and wrestling. She loved her road trips and adventures with her daughter Lisa. Her only grandchild, Kacie, was her pride, joy and shining star.
Nancy is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Fred Mills, her son Cary Mills/ wife Noreen, grand daughter Kacie, daughter Lisa Henry DelGrosso/ husband Rich, mother Sue Brown, sister Sharon Zuccaro, nieces and nephews Scott, Jill, Ixchelle, Tony; brother Troy Zook/ wife Anna, and their children Ruby, Eve and Leo, her sister Louise Ray/ husband Bill and their children Jenny and Nicole, her sister-in-law Theresa Judd/ husband Dick and their children Lisa, Jake, Amber, Jared, Becky and Richard, and close family friend, Chad Saeler. She loved her nieces and nephews dearly. Nancy was a student of Course In Miracles and loved her Wednesday night course group. She was grateful to Alcoholic Anonymous for helping Fred find his true self.
In lieu of flowers please send donations to CALM, as Nancy had loved her time as docent at CALM.
A celebration of Nancy's life will be held March 9, 2014 at Pyles Boys Camp at Lake Ming at 1pm.
