Nina Carpenter Obituary

Nina S. Carpenter 1921 - 2010 Nina was born on March 20, 1921 in Parker, Idaho and passed away on September 16, 2010. Nina grew up in Idaho and relocated to Bakersfield when she married Jim Carpenter in 1942. They were married for 44 years before Jim passed away in 1986. They loved being with family and traveling. They belonged to the Sundowners of the Good Sam Club and enjoyed many of the travels and camp-outs with their friends. Nina loved family first and never missed the opportunity to spend her time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and also found time for reading, oil painting, and crocheting. Nina had a sweet nature and was always cheerful and welcoming to all around her. She embraced life with a happy and positive attitude and shared her lovely and giving personality with others. Nina is survived by her two brothers, Gordon and Jim Sanderson, and sister, Pearl Nay; 3 children, Marvell Pruett and husband Doug, Sandra Bristol, and James Carpenter and wife Taylor; 12 grandchildren, Jennifer Reynolds (husband Dirk), Julie Gentry (husband Arvin), Scott Pruett (wife Bevis), Jake Pruett, and Jon Pruett (wife Talita); Gary Orona (wife Kelly), Mike Orona, Rick McCathron (wife Sonja); Christy Keese (husband Mike), Jeremy Carpenter (wife Tanisha), Jaime Carpenter, and Casey Carpenter (wife Kelly); and her 23 great grandchildren. Nina leaves a legacy of life memories filled with happiness, compassion, and love. The family would like to thank the caregivers at Optimal Hospice for their help and kindness. I was so sorry to hear of the passing of Aunt Nina. It has been many years since I have seen any of the cousins, aunts and uncles. My love to all my cousins, thinking of you of all and remembering what a great a wonderful aunt your mother was. Love Kim (Jim's Daughter)
