Patricia Adrian (Young) Hoffman Obituary
Those who knew and loved Patricia called her Mom, Grandma, Pat, Trish, and Patti. Pat was born to Fenton and Ruth Young in Bakersfield where she lived all her life. She attended Bakersfield High School, where she was a song leader, and graduated in 1953. While attending Bakersfield College she met and married William "Bill" Houser in 1955. Bill and Pat had three daughters, Teri, Lori, and Traci. Pat began her career working in the warrants division of The Kern County Sheriff's Department. Pat later married Roland "Rollie" Hoffman in 1987. They enjoyed traveling to California's central coast, Laughlin, and going on cruises together. Pat worked for The City of Bakersfield Parks and Recreation Department from 1983 until her retirement in 2000. It was while working there that she made many lifelong friends. After retirement, she loved to play bunco, attend luncheons, and go shopping with these remarkable ladies. She is survived by husband, Rollie Hoffman; daughter, Traci James and husband James; grandchildren, Tyler and wife Christa, Matthew, Zachary and wife Katelyn, Megan and husband Caden, Jenna, Jeremy and wife Lillian; and great grandchildren, Briana, Brook, Jordan, Blesam, Joseph, Peyton, Kamryn, and Maverick; her brother, Mike and wife Jeanne Young, their children, Becky, Wendy, and David; sister-in-law, Delena Messick; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by parents, Fenton and Ruth Young; daughters, Teri DeVries and Lori Houser; granddaughter, Christina Brownen; and great grandson, James Harris.
Pat loved spending time with her family, cooking and hospitality, gardening and reading. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her, but not forgotten.
