Patricia Ann (Hughes) Sanchez

Patricia Ann (Hughes) Sanchez Obituary
Patricia was born October 25, 1932 in Villa Park, Chicago, Illinois to John and Vivian Hughes. Her family moved to Bakersfield, California where she attended school. In the early 1950's she went back to reside in Chicago but would later return to Bakersfield to settle and raise her own family.
She worked at Bakersfield Sandstone and Brick Company for 32 years and had become a manager before finally retiring. She was well respected in the building industry for her extensive knowledge and expertise. She was so well-known that it was very common for her to be out somewhere and for people to call out, "Hey Sandstone" or "Hey Red" as she was affectionately nicknamed, because of her flaming red hair. It was through Sandstone that she met the love of her life, Tony Sanchez. They loved spending time with their large extended family, arranging family trips and adventures, entertaining friends and traveling all over the world. Together, they also shared a talent and a passion for designing and building things and loved creating projects and well-crafted items for their homes and loved ones. They shared a wonderful family and life together for nearly 41 years.
Pat is survived by her husband, Antonio (Tony) Sanchez, daughters, Rebecca Sanchez and Debra (Lloyd) Phillips, son, Jeff Lloyd Sr., her brother, Richard Colvard, his wife Ann, and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.
