Patricia (NaNa) Cremeans Obituary
Patricia Cremeans (NaNa) 1923 - 2012 Pat passed away peacefully on July 1, 2012 to join her husband, Hayes (Papaw), who preceded her in death on August 6, 2000. Pat leaves behind her three children: Jim, (Keet) Cremeans, Johanna (Alan) McIntosh, and Jennifer (Bruce) Massa. She was a loving and involved grandmother to her 7 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 4 1/2 great, great grandchildren. Pat was born April 17, 1923 in Bakersfield, Ca. Mom and Dad met during WWII. She was a senior at Kern County Union High School (now BHS), and he was a sergeant in the Army Air Corp. stationed at Minter Field. They married right after her graduation, and he was deployed to Europe in less than a year. Pat was proud to have been born in Bakersfield and happy that she could raise her family here. Our mom was a homemaker and a great cook. She passed her love of cooking and baking on to her children and grandchildren. NaNa was funny, shocking, and "over the top." She loved her family more than anything. Mom has suffered for many years with Alzheimers. She is now free of the disease and pain. NaNa is once again the young and vibrant person of her youth. She has joined PaPaw and both her parents in heaven and will continue to "watch over" and love her family. It is comforting to know that Mom is not our past but still in our future. Our family would like to thank the truly wonderful staff of Treacy Villa Residential Care Facility in Ventura. They work as a competent and loving team which is not an easy combination to find! We would also like to thank the staff of Livingston Memorial Hospice in Ventura with a special thanks to Dan Kaplan, RN. You were terrific! Mom also received good care from Dr. Patel of Kaiser. There is no service per our mom's request. If you want to do something, you might consider making a donation to your local or planting something in your yard to remember NaNa. www.bakersfield.com/obits
