Patrick (Pat) Lee Jamieson, 78, died Thursday, April 21, 2016 after a brief illness surrounded by his family. Pat was born on July 21, 1937 to Thomas Lee Jamieson and Evelyn (Chris) Jamieson-Voigt in Taft, CA. He graduated from Taft Union High School in 1955 and attended Fresno State University before joining the United States Air Force.
Pat greatly enjoyed his time in the Air Force working with Strategic Air Command stationed in Paris, France and toured Europe extensively. He frequently reminisced about his time overseas and missed the smoky corner cafes in Paris and the beautiful mountains of Interlaken, Switzerland. After returning to the States, Pat began working with his father and grandfather, Fred Jamieson, at a produce company in Bakersfield. He worked in several industries before settling on safety where he was a Safety Manager for Gene Watson Construction for over 20 years.
After moving back to Taft in his 50's to care for his mother, Pat reconnected with his high-school sweetheart Anita (Hanna) Jameson and they were married on April 19, 1991.
Pat had many passions; he was a staunch Republican who enjoyed a good debate, a strong believer in the Second Amendment, a lover of golf, cooking, the Miami Dolphins and especially gambling with frequent trips to Las Vegas and Indian Casinos. He thoroughly enjoyed spending time at OT's in Taft where he and his wife Anita along with their children were regulars every Thursday evening.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 25 years, Anita; his three daughters Julie Purchase (Phil), Cherie Payne (Jeff), and Robyne Schroeder (Ryan); his four step-children Kelly Sullivan, Doug Jameson, Brian Jameson (Carrie), and Barry Jameson (Suzanne); his 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was a kind and generous man who loved his family and he will be missed.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 28, 2016 at 10:00 am at Erickson & Brown Funeral Home Chapel located at 501 Lucard, Taft, CA. The family will greet friends after the services at the Taft Moose Lodge located at 205 1/2 North 10th Street, Taft, CA. In lieu of flowers, Mr. Jamieson requested that you NOT vote for Hillary Clinton.
