Patsy Ruth Rodgers Obituary
Patsy was born in Altus, Oklahoma, on August 2, 1933, to Clifford and Evelyn Robertson, and passed away peacefully on April 9, 2015. She spent most of her life in Bakersfield, California, raising her family, and she retired as a social worker from the County of Kern. She lived life to the fullest, enjoying camping trips, water skiing, bowling, square dancing, crocheting, and her love of flowers.
Patsy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. 'The most wasted of all days is one without laughter,' E.E. Cummings. She loved to laugh and hear a good joke, plus spending time with her family and beloved cat, 'Tiger.'Her passion was traveling in their motor home, going on cruises around the world, and to Stateline, NV, playing her favorite slot machines.
She is survived by her loving husband of 17 years, Chuck Rodgers; daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Vern Munn; son and daughter-in-law, J. Michael and Doreen Lane; daughter, Kathy Smith Nelson; grandchildren, Jody Lane, Desaray and her husband, Brian Sessions, Damian Smith, Tammi and her husband, Carlos Perez, and Mariah and her husband, Daniel McCabe; and great-grandchildren, Kayla Lane-Obee, John Michael Smith, Skylar and Connor Sessions, Lane, Blake and Austin Perez, and Lexi McCabe.
Patsy was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Evelyn Robertson; first husband, John Junior Lane; second husband, Charles Boxwell; sisters, Bobbie Poffinbarger and Brenda Klauer; and grandson, Johnny Munn.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2015, at 1:00 p.m., at the Mountain Aire Estates Clubhouse. Wood Family Funeral Service has been entrusted with her care. For condolences please visit
