Pauline Hoff Obituary

Pauline P. Hawthorne Hoff July 25, 1920 - October 31, 2010 Pauline, a 21-year resident of Bakersfield, CA died peacefully on October 31, 2010. Pauline's life began in Lansing, Michigan; she was born to Herbert and Ida Hawthorne. She loved life, her family and her friends. She was a gifted piano player and singer, a talent she inherited from her father. She graduated from Adrian High School in 1936, and then attended Bob Jones College and Jackson Business University. Her career was spent as an Executive Secretary. She married Ken Britten in Lansing, Michigan on February 9, 1940 and became a mother to Bonnie Lou Britten. She later married T.J. Hoff on June 20, 1952 in Lansing, Michigan and became a mother to Mary Ann, baby William who died at birth and Pamela Sue. In 1964 she headed west with her girls and became a resident of Glendale, CA until her last move in 1989 to Bakersfield, CA. Pauline is survived by her daughters, Bonnie Britten of Los Angeles, CA, Mary and husband David Winsor of Laguna Hills, CA, Pam and husband Rick Williamson of Bakersfield, CA. She is also survived by her 3 grandchildren, Travis Winsor and wife Nikki, Heidi Jaffe and husband Sam, and Sarah Williamson; and 5 great-grandchildren, Jaclyn, Megan and Davis Winsor and Miles and Brooks Jaffe. A family memorial will be held in her honor. Many thanks to Glenwood Gardens Skilled Nursing Facility for their excellent care and to Optimal Hospice for their professionalism, wonderful compassionate care, and loving support to our mother and the family.
