1925 - 2013 Obituary Condolences
Pierce Windell Meadors Obituary
Pierce Windell Meadors June 11, 1925 - December 19, 2013 Pierce was born in Mulberry, Arkansas to Shuler Meadors and Melda White Meadors. He was one of eleven children. He is survived by his wife Kathryn Meadors. Two sons, Brad Meadors and Mauri Meadors. His first born son Lance Meadors passed away in 1994. Pierce is also survived by his last remaining sibling Sue Mastrucci. He loved his family and enjoyed being with Brad and his wife Linda A'Day Meadors and Mauri Meadors and his spouse Sandy Meadors. Brad, Mauri and their spouses cared for Pierce until his passing. Pierce's wife Kathryn was at his bedside to the very end. Pierce was blessed with four grandchildren; Troy Meadors, Dr. Mark Meadors, Tracy Meadors Merickel and Matthew Meadors. Mark was able to confer with his Grandfather regarding his struggle with cancer and eased his mind regarding the transistions that his illness dictated. Mark's wife Bethany and their children, Jacob, Jordan, Gabriel, and Nathan lent loving support and prayers during this difficult time. Tracy and her husband T.R. Merickel and their daughters Grace and Paige were a constant in Pierce and Kathryn's daily life, helping with anything they needed and offering all their love and support. Pierce served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He was aboard the SS Typhoon for three years and received an honorable discharge. His military honors consisted of four medals for service in battle campaigns in the South Pacific. He worked for Standard Oil Company for 30 years. His work experience was varied as he was a pipeline Welder, Foreman and pipeline Inspector. He loved buying homes and flipping them. This venture into real estate was halted when his health began to fail. Pierce was a deeply spiritual man who loved the Lord. He loved Kathryn his soul mate for 70 years, his family and a host of friends. Fishing, gardening and talking about the "good old days" were his hobbies. Our deepest thank you to Optimal Hospice and Rev. Duane Meadors. Rest in peace Dad, we will always love and miss you.
