Please join us Sunday, November 9, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the Bell Tower Club, 1200 Truxtun Avenue, Suite 100, to remember and celebrate the life of Polly.
Polly Ann Robertson (nee Kinzel) was born April 11, 1942 in Belridge, California to parents Nelma and Howard Kinzel. She was married to Howard Kent Robertson, and together they had three daughters, Carrie, Kate and Amy.
Polly worked in a variety of positions in her early career, including secretary and library aide. Her life's work began forty years ago when she returned to school and earned her Bachelor's Degree and teaching credential from California State University, Bakersfield. As an elementary school teacher, reading specialist and mentor teacher, she found her calling with Bakersfield City School District and impacted many, many lives.
Polly is deeply loved by her family and friends. She is survived by her three daughters Carrie Atkin-Goss, Kate Maberry, and Amy Robertson, sons-in-law Jeff Maberry and Anthony Goss, older sister Judith Elaine Harshman, younger brother Don Kinzel, brothers and sisters-in-law Bill Harshman, Tom and Jacie Haslett and Renee Kinzel, numerous nieces and nephews, and grandchildren Brad, Elizabeth, Jane, Margaret and Ben.
Family, friends, and beloved students are invited to share stories at the ceremony being held at the Bell Tower Club at 1200 Truxtun Avenue, Suite 100 at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 9th. Parking is located at the corner of 17th and M Streets. A children's book may be brought to be donated in her honor to local children's literacy programs.
