Rachel Arambula

Rachel Arambula Obituary
Rachel Mendoza Arambula was born in Delano, CA, to father Refugio and mother Maria Mendoza. She graduated from Delano High School and later attended Bakersfield College and Fresno State. She met and married her longtime companion, Louie Arambula; they spent 56 years helping one another raise a wonderful family. Rachel worked and later retired after 20 years from the Bakersfield City School District as an Office Clerk.
Rachel had a passion of helping others. She helped people conquer their fears of agoraphobia by sharing her own struggles and how she overcame the phobia. With the peritoneal dialysis treatment that she received, it allowed her to coach others and receive the same treatment as she did. Rachel was also an avid member of St. Joseph's Church; she taught catechism for 30 years where she later received The Pope Pius award.
Rachel is survived by her loving husband, Louie Arambula; two sons, Matthew and Paul; granddaughters, Mariana and Madalyn; and daughter-in-law, Cindy. The family would like to thank Bakersfield Memorial Hospice, San Joaquin Hospital, Good Samaritan, and Nurse Linda Farmer.
A viewing will be held Thursday, June 26, at Greenlawn Funeral Home, 3700 River Blvd., from 4 p.m. - 7 p.m. A Mass will be held Friday, June 27, 10 a.m., at St. Joseph's Church.
