Randy Bruce Raymond Sr. Obituary
Randy was born January 23, 1952, in Grand Rapids, MI, to Randall and Jennie Raymond, he came to California when he was five, growing up in Ventura, CA. He moved to Bakersfield in 1973 with his wife, Sherrie. Randy loved fast cars and hunting. But he was most proud of his sons and his precious grandkids.
Randy worked at the Kern County Sheriff's Office in patrol, substations, and detectives; but his favorite assignment was homicide. In 1994, he had an opportunity to buy a trophy shop - a real change from law enforcement - and had a second career as a small business owner. Soon the whole family was working in the family business. Randy worked with many charities over the years, including the Bakersfield Breakfast Lions, the Elks, Kern County Law Enforcement Foundation, Bakersfield PAL, and so many others.
Randy was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Sherrie; sons, Randy, Jr. and wife, Megan, and Joe and wife, Holly; daughter, Kimberly Smith; his three grandkids, Randy III, Emma, and Sam; and sister, Darla of Colorado.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, November 19, 2014, at 3:00 p.m. at Greenlawn Celebration of Life Center Southwest, 2739 Panama Lane. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the National Rifle Assoc., as Randy was a lifetime member.
