Raoul Gutierrez Obituary

Raoul Camilio Gutierrez 1950 - 2010 Born April 5, 1950 to Camilio and Celia Gutierrez in Pasadena, California, left this world on Sept. 30, 2010. Survived by his wife, Linda; seven children: Kim Moody, Phillip Gutierrez, Jason Gutierrez, April Kent, Raoul Jr. Gutierrez, Amy Gutierrez and Sandra Chapa; four sisters: Virginia, Camilla "Pee Wee", Viola, and Yolonda; one brother Rudy; 23 grandchildren, 3 great grand children; as well as many nieces, nephews, and God children. Raoul was preceded in death by both parents and two brothers: Frank "Poncho" Luna and Ronnie Gutierrez. Raoul Camilio Gutierrez, known as "Cam" to close friends and family has been a member of the Bakersfield community for over twenty years. He worked as an auto mechanic for Bill Wright Toyota and Good Ole Boys and he loved his work. To Cam it was almost as if he made his living by simply enjoying his favorite hobby. Cam shared a home with Linda, his loving wife of 25 years and could often be found enjoying Sunday afternoons watching a Vikings or a Lakers game with his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed family barbecues, taking his grand children to the park, and simply enjoying the life around him. Cam was one of the World's biggest optimists, always seeing the best in people and opportunity in any situation. His attitude was infectious to those who were around him and he made an impression on many lives. Never forgotten, he will be missed by all who knew him. He will carry on in the lives and actions of those he loved, and who loved him. The family would like to extend a warm appreciation to Hoffmann Hospice, with a special thank you to Kristine, Kristy, and Alma. Your dedication and compassion brought us a comfort that we can only begin to describe. Friends are cordially invited to attend a visitation Tuesday, Oct. 5, from 5-9 p.m., with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Cherished Memories Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, Oct. 6, at 10:00 a.m. Cherished Memories Memorial Chapel www.bakersfield.com/obits
