Raul (Rudy) Hernandez Obituary
Dad passed away peacefully on April 16, 2014. He was born in Leon Guanajuato, Mexico. He came to Kern County 58 years ago and worked as a Farm Laborer until retirement. He was a hard worker and a strong and loving Papa. His biggest joy in life was being surrounded by his family, especially his grandkids, which he treasured. He loved taking Sunday drives.
His heart belonged to his "Prieta" whom he loved all these years. He missed her so very much. He would always start out saying " I remember, when your Mama and I ......" and he would reminisce about their times together. It often made us cry to see him sad. Even surrounded by the many people who loved him, he was still missing her. It is a bit comforting to know that God has called him home to be sad no more. I know that he is happy to be home and to be reunited with his "Prieta". He will be deeply missed by all who loved him.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 47 years Sarah Hernandez, mother and father, Amelia & Jesus Hernandez, sisters; Amanda Conroy & Irma Sierra; brothers Ruben and Jose Hernandez.
He is survived by his two brothers; Ismael and Arturo Hernandez, and two sisters; Rachel Ortega and Rosemary Perez. He leaves behind his 7 children (including spouses) Raul Hernandez Jr., Richard & Fidelia Hernandez, Ernie Hernandez, Vivian Hernandez, Lisa & Mark Rodriguez, Lydia & Jack Trobaugh, and Jaime & Cathy Hernandez. Sixteen grandchildren; Jessica, Albert, Richard, Kristofer, Jacinda, Marcos, Matthew, Amada, Jack II, Vincent, Taylor, Trinity, Sarrah, Caleb(Pilo), Jacub, and Jett. Six great grandchildren; Abigail, Isiah, Serenity, Hartley, Mike III, Krista and many nephews and nieces.
Our special thanks to the ICU staff at Memorial Hospital for their wonderful care during his last days. We would also like to thank family and friends that stood beside us through it all. Thank you for all your prayers.
