Raymond A. Lara, 80, and his lovely wife of 60 years, Minnie (Pat) M. Lara, 80, have gone to be home with their Lord and Savior.
Raymond passed away on Wednesday July 2nd, 2014. He was born on January 23rd, 1934, in Los Angeles, Ca. At the age of 17 he joined and proudly served in the US Navy for four years during the Korean War. Raymond worked in the oil fields for over 15 years for Rental Tool Corp. and later for Pacific Inspection.
Pat passed away on Friday July 11th, 2014. She was born on October 29th, 1933 in Spring Hill, NC. After graduating from Princeton High School, she worked as an accountant and as a seamstress.
Raymond and Pat were married in 1954. In 1965, they moved to California to raise their children.
Raymond and Pat are survived by their children: Raymond Glenn Lara (Sylvia) and Mary Caraveau (Tony), grandchildren: Scott (Jenn), Nicole (Ariel), and Candace, great grandchildren: Rachel, Alex, Abigail, and Isabel. Pat also leaves behind her sister, Frances Braswell, along with many nieces and nephews.
They are preceded in death by their son Phillip and their great granddaughter Haley. Pat was also preceded by her three brothers: Bickett, Ulsey, and Ray.
Services will be held on Wednesday July 16th, 2014, at 10:45am, at Bakersfield National Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Mission Family Mortuary.
