Raymond Val Verde Obituary
Raymond Val Verde, 62, of Bakersfield, California, passed away on January 9, 2015. He was born on March 29, 1952, in Olton, Texas, and was a graduate of Bakersfield High School. Raymond held several careers that interested him during his lifetime, but his most enjoyable career started in the seventh grade.
He became a successful drummer where he traveled to Oregon, Colorado, and all over California performing his "gigs." His highlight was being the drummer for Rosie and the Originals during a performance. He would have been a fisherman since he enjoyed fishing, whether it be at the "aqueduct" or the lake. He further enjoyed working on cars, which included painting or just being a "shade tree mechanic."
Raymond Val Verde was the son of Rodolfo and Patrocina Valverde and brother to Rodolfo Jr., Arnold, and RoyLee, who preceded him in death. He is survived by his daughter, Alicia of San Jose; son, Geremy of Bakersfield; and his six grandchildren. He is further survived by his sisters, Connie, Amelia, Virginia, Sally, Patricia; and his brothers, Rudolph, Reynaldo, Richard, Ruben, Tino, Dino, and Bobbie. He also had a best friend, his dog "Guido."
