Rebecca Ladd Herring Doll died 6-2-16, from Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome, age 64. She was born 6-8-51 in Monticello, Arkansas, to Wilson Alvis Herring & Barbara Jean Nininger Herring, soon relocating to Bakersfield. She graduated from West High School, class of 1969, and belonged to First Southern Baptist Church on Columbus Street. She worked at Foster's Freeze on Stockdale Highway, where she met Thomas Ross Doll, whom she later married.
She is survived by her three children: Erin Doll of Salt Lake City (grandson Noah); Philip and wife Candace of Arroyo Grande (grandchildren Masen & Kindle); Mathew Doll and Tamyea of Bakersfield (grandson Damien). Siblings are: Jack Herring (Janice) of Indianapolis, Indiana, nieces Kimberly, Lisa Lynn (deceased), and Julie; Jill Helson (Ron) of Ojai; & Kevin Herring (Monica) of Bakersfield, nephew Michael, niece Barbara.
She worked at Mervyn's, where she was on the design/display staff. When heart health issues ended that employment, she worked at Cottage Gardens, then at Olive Knolls Church of the Nazarene, initially as cook, then as school librarian, then office staff.
A celebration of life service will be held on June 24, 2016 at 11:00 am., at Olive Knolls Church of the Nazarene, 6201 Fruitvale Avenue. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation in her memory to the Olive Knolls Christian School or to New Hope Center.
