Richard P. (Dick) Chenot February 7, 1924 - July 27, 2012 Celebrating the life of Richard P. (Dick) Chenot who passed away July 27, 2012. Born February 7, 1924 in Long Beach, CA, Dick met the love of his life, Lou Freeman, as a young Air Force pilot. They married in 1946. He was a devoted Christian and mentored many young believers in the various churches he attended. Loved by his family, he leaves a legacy of care, dedication and strong values for his children, Ross, Char and David, their spouses, 5 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and brother Dave Chenot. He was a highly decorated Air Force pilot with a 30-year career, flying 283 combat missions in 3 wars. In peacetime he served as a test pilot of numerous jet fighters. His retirement years were spent enjoying endurance cycling & walking. Dick and Lou left the world a better place through their generosity. They devoted time, money and energy to helping others. Memorial services are pending. In lieu of flowers contributions can be sent to Bakersfield Rescue Mission. www.bakersfield.com/obits
