Ricky Adren Phillips April 14, 1948 - September 2, 2012 Rick was born to parents Ruth Imogene (Jean Baker) and Ernie Adren Phillips in Heber Springs, Arkansas. At the age of 3 the family moved to Shafter, California where Rick attended schools in Shafter and Wasco. At 17, with the consent of his father, Rick enlisted in the United States Marine Corp, stationed at Camp Pendleton California and serving in Vietnam. After his service he worked with his father farming and doing ranch work. Rick was raised in the Shafter Church of Christ, and was baptized in 1962. He became a long haul truck driver working for Twins Trucking and Lone Star before he went independent with R. Phillips Trucking. He spent his last years in Melba, Idaho enjoying his passions of riding his Harley, affectionally he called Homer, and the comraderee with other veterans and many great friends. Rick loved entertaining family with his story telling of years past. Everyone enjoyed his sense of humor and light hearted spirit. He will be forever loved, and so very missed. He leaves to mourn his loss: His Children, Debbie (and Kevin) Asher of Alaska. Stephyn (and Amy) Phillips , Stephanie Phillips and Christi Phillips all of Illinois. Grandchildren: Gaige Philpot, Lindsey Philpot, Curtis Asher, Ella Asher, Ethan Asher and Zoey Phillips. Brothers and sisters: Barbara Strickland (Jim), Ronald Phillips, Lynn McDougal (Ron), Adrianne Booth (Gordon) and Randy Phillips and many nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held Saturday, September 15 at noon at Shafter Memorial Park for Rick Phillips, age 64, who passed away September 2, 2012 in Meridian, Idaho.
