Robert Bryan "Bobby" Garcia Obituary
Robert "Bobby" Bryan Garcia December 8, 1962 - February 8, 2013 Our beloved "Bobby" passed away on Febraury 8th surrounded by his loving family. Bobby went on to be by the side of his loving grandma Frances Olivares and grandfather Robert Garcia. Memorial Services will be held at St. Frances Church on February 15th., 900 H St. 933304 at 9:00 a.m. Interment services will immediately follow at Greenlawn Cemetery on River Blvd. Bobby was born to Robert "Bob" Garcia and Joyce Olivarez Garcia on December 8, 1962. He leaves behind his loving and devoted father and mother Bob and Joyce; brother Dustin Dean and wife Tami along with their children Gabrielle Nicole, Gillian Frances, and Griffin Dean; his sister Kimberly Alexis and husband Philip Carl Marvin, Brady Allen Lowe and Alyssa Marie; very special friends Susie Rodriquez, Jeff Payne, and Brian Lee. He also leaves his very special cousin Ericka Garcia Aguirre. Bobby had so many relatives and friends it would take a page to list all the names. He will always be remembered for his good looks, hair and incredible intelligence. Doctor, lawyer or professor, if you entered into a "mental judo" contest with him you had better know your stuff because he could quickly find an opening and flip you on your "mental backside". Bobby was a gifted athlete starting out with the Raiders Jack Frost football team going on to play football and baseball at B.H.S. He often used the saying " once a Driller, always a Driller" to antagonize his family, most of whom went to East High. He attended Bakersfield College and later got his license to be an insurance agent working with his dad and brother at Garcia and Associates Insurance Agency. Bobby was an avid reader who loved to travel experiencing his greatest travel adventure visiting the British Isles with his compadre Brian Lee. The rumor is, They are still remembered there in a certain pub in London. Although never playing a musical instrument himself, bobby was a prolific fan of music of all genres and eras. You could play a particular song from almost any era and he could tell you the name of the band or the singer....just don't ask him to sing. However, being a devoted Angel's baseball fan he could yell and sing at any Angel's games while carrying a tune. Bobby was a loyal friend, son, brother, nephew, cousin, grandson. Always called by his loving tia Debbie "baby Bobby" and by nieces and nephews as "Buddy". Bobby left us much too soon, leaving behind a huge void that will be hard to fill but because of the compassion and love his friends and family have for him the sadness and darkness will be easier to fill as time goes by. The gift of laughter, his ability to fill a room by his presence the memory of his "being" will make the sadness disappear. Thank you Bobby for the many gifts you have left for us to enjoy. You are sorely missed. We will sing a song to you and celebrate your your life each and every day. Pallbearers include Chance Moore, Brian Lee, Jeff Payne, Bobby Rivas, Tim Gardea and Frank Perez. Honorary pallbearers include Chris Diaz, Darren Stahl, Ray Villareal, Tom Klamorick, and George Rangel. www.bakersfield.com/obits
