Robert C. Wall, 81, died on April 18, 2016, in Bakersfield, CA. He was born on April 29, 1934, to Willetta Kerar in Pana, ILL. After serving as a Navy submariner during the Korean Conflict, Bob began his career as a federal agent with the U.S. Naval Investigative Service (now NCIS). After his first retirement, Bob and wife Marie relocated from San Francisco-Bay area to Bakersfield in 1988 where he began his second career as a licensed private investigator specializing in criminal defense. He worked with local and Bay Area attorneys, most of whom became his cherished friends. He attended St. Philip the Apostle Church; his good friend Monsignor Ron Swett will officiate at Bob's Memorial service.
In addition to his wife, Bob loved fresh-water fishing, golf, outdoor photography, dogs, living in Japan and the Central Coast. His dream of residing near the ocean again will be fulfilled when his ashes are scattered at beautiful Montana de Oro.
Survivors include Bob's beloved wife of 34 years, Marie Aylward-Wall; sisters-in-law Jean Absher, Joan Nash (Aldon) and Margaret Gonzales (Henry); many nieces and nephews; former wife Shirley Shifflett; children Bobby (North Carolina), Elizabeth (Virginia) and Susie (Maryland). Special friends Marie Razo and his "Bro" Richard Rivera. He was pre-deceased by his sister-in-law Patty Lindley and attorney friend Jeff Perry.
A Memorial Mass will be held Friday, April 29th at 1:30pm at St. Philip the Apostle Church, 7100 Stockdale Hwy., Bakersfield, CA. Donations in Bob's name may be sent to Wounded Warriors Project, or St. Vincent de Paul Homeless Center, 310 Baker St., Bakersfield, CA. The family thanks Emergency Room and 4 Main staff at Mercy Hospital for their kindness and especially to Hoffman Hospice Angels Debbie and Linda.
