Ronald was born November 14, 1937 to Albert and Christina Koch in Bakersfield, California. His parents and five siblings had come to Bakersfield from Sioux Falls, South Dakota to join Christina's parents, Chris and Ursula Egger because of the Great Depression.
Ron had a happy boyhood enjoying life on Terrace Way with the folks frequent family gatherings.
Since his parents were active members of The First Presbyterian Church, Ronald attended regularly, participating in youth activities.
Unfortunately, at the age of 16, he nearly drowned at the large Union Avenue Plunge. Even though his nephew, Gary Richards, saved his life, he suffered some brain damage which prevented him from holding a job. His parents and family meant everything to him and he looked forward to their visits in The Board and Care homes he lived in.
A special thanks to the dear ladies who took good care of him for 13 years in Delano's Cascade View Home.
He was predeceased by sisters Bea Winders and Elaine Molinar and is survived by brother Robert and sisters Irene Richards and Lois Sabaloni, all in their nineties, as well as many nieces and nephews. There will be no services.
