Ronald Ronnie Escalera November 2, 1952 - August 18, 2012 Ronnie Escalera was born to Joe and Ramona Escalera on November 2, 1952 and went home to be with the Lord on August 18, 2012. Born and raised in East Bakersfield. He graduated from East High School, Class of 1970. His passion for football is what drove him to play for four years while at East High and was chosen to the All City team, his senior year. He went on to play for the BC Renegades. He worked for 25 years in the tire industry employed by BF Goodrich Boynton Bros. and Firestone. Such a huge sports fan, whatever season it was, if a Yankee, Raider, USC, or Laker game was on TV, guaranteed he was watching. No matter what the occasion, he loved cooking and barbecuing for his family and cherished the time with them. He was truly blessed when the Lord brought Ruth, his love, soul mate and friend into his life. Ronnie's family would like to express our deepest appreciation to Ruth Mora for loving and caring for him during his illness. She never left his side. Ronnie is now in heaven with his father, Joe Escalera. He is survived by three sons, Reggie, Rick and Ronnie. Sisters;. Evelyn and Martin Morones, Yvonne and Peter Salazar, Roseanne Fontaine. Brothers; Gilbert and Lorraine, Joseph and Pat, Ernie and Cindy, Jerry and Becky, Ray and Bridget, Carl and Kim. Ronnie was blessed with numerous aunts and uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends that he loved dearly. A memorial service is scheduled for Monday, August 27, 2012 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, beginning with a Rosary at 9:30 a.m., followed by a Mass at 10:00 a.m. Forever at Peace, Forever in our hearts, our precious son and brother.
