Rosavelia Gamboa Montoya Obituary
On April 14, 2015, our Heavenly Father called one of his devoted children home; Rosavelia Gamboa Montoya.
Rosavelia was a beloved sister, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. she is survived by her three sons, Efrain (Polly) Montoya, Octavio (Melida) Montoya, and Hector Montoya; two daughters Rosalinda (Pat) Compton, Silvia (Brad) McKinzie; beautiful grandchildren Jeffrey and Meaghan Montoya, Timothy G., Andrew, and Mitchell Bell, Matthew and Gina Compton, Erica Hanna, Jeremy McKinzie, Anthony and Christian Montoya, Hector Jr. and Joshua Montoya; great grandchildren Cameron Bell, Colten Bell and Kylie Montoya.
Rosavelia grew up with her five brothers, Gilbert, Roger, Samuel, Manuel, Ralph; four sisters, Gracelia, Maria, Irma, and Mary in Zacatecas, Mexico, before moving to Shafter, California.
Rosevelia was married to Eustaquio Montoya and was a faithful wife for 22 years when she raised her five children. For the past 23 years, Rosavelia was a wonderful companion to and loved by Alfredo Gomez.
As well as being a devoted spouse and mother, Rosevelia was a hard worker for 10 years before retiring from The Garlic Company. She enjoyed time caring for her beloved cat, Cha-ne-ne, her birds, and tending to her garden which contained her beloved roses. She valued dressing elegantly, traveling to Mexico, Texas and dancing the night away. She devoted time to St. Therese's church and enjoyed her time cooking for her children and grandchildren and loving on others.
A devoted Catholic, she often prayed the rosary, read her Bible, and blessed all of us with her elegance and grace throughout her life.
Rosavelia will be remembered mostly by the way she cherished and loved each of her children, their spouses, her grandchildren and great grandchildren and the example of love and patience she showed while waiting on our Lord to carry her home.
Visitation will be held for Rosavelia on April 20, 2015 from 2-8 PM at Peter's Funeral Home in Shafter, Ca. with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6pm.
The Mass of the Resurrection for Rosavelia will be officiated by Father David Enriquez on April 21, 2015, at 10 AM at St. Therese's Church in Shafter, Ca. followed immediately by her interment at Shafter Memorial Park.
