Rose Caroline Boyd Obituary
Rose Caroline Boyd January 7, 1914 ~ June 17, 2012 Rose Caroline Boyd went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 17, 2012, after a short illness. She was born in Visalia, CA, on January 7, 1914, to parents Emilio and Aqualina Beghini. She had one brother, Louis Emilio Beghini, also of Visalia. In 1939 she married Ernest Edward Boyd of Hanford, who passed away in 1990. Soon after, they moved to Bakersfield, where she resided for 73 years. They first lived in a small town apartment at the corner of Chester Avenue and 4th Street before relocating to the Northeast side of town since 1945. She is survived by her two sons, Robert Ernest (Lonai) and David Richard (Clara); two grandchildren, Renae Michele Boyd and Richard Wayne Boyd; and one great-grandson, Jason Thomas Powers; and many friends who loved her. Rose loved being a homemaker and taking care of her family. She also loved growing tomatoes. Rose was an avid bridge player and enjoyed her weekly bridge parties. She would play bridge solitaire until midnight after the boys went to bed. She was a fabulous oil painter, with her paintings displayed around her house and her sons. She loved to crochet, especially for Community Houses Christmas Bazaar. But she was most well-loved for her Italian cooking, especially her spaghetti. She spent her lifetime taking care of others, always putting them first, especially her family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She was a very special lady. The family would like to thank all the special nurses at Hoffmann Hospice for taking such good care of our mother and grandmother. As per her wishes, there will be no funeral services. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Hoffmann Hospice or Meals on Wheels. For condolences please visit www.greenlawnmortuaryandcemetery.com. Greenlawn Mortuary www.bakersfield.com/obits
