Rosie Regier

1921 - 2013 Obituary Condolences
Rosie Regier Obituary
Rosie Regier 1921 - 2013 "The Flower Lady" Rosie Regier began life as Rosa Lily Nord in Bakersfield on August 8, 1921, born to John and Tina Nord. She passed to eternal life on May 27, 2013. Rosie attended local schools, including Kern Union High School, now BHS, graduating in 1939. She attended Fresno Pacific University when it was Pacific Bible Institute. She met Menno Regier in 1944 in Sequoia National Park. They married in 1946 and remained married until Menno's death in 2006. They had three children, Jonathan, Rosalyn, and Rebecca. Rosie worked for many years as a legal secretary, gaining enough knowledge and experience to perform as a paralegal. She had a very strong work ethic and never stayed home from work due to illness. Rosie's real passion was keeping her home and yard in outstanding condition. She was quick to open her home for showers, potlucks, Bible studies, and family gatherings. Rosie and Menno grew flowers and sold bouquets of fresh flowers at the local farmers' market. People mattered so much to Rosie; she has had countless friends, and she loved her ministry of card and letter writing. She was a member of Heritage Bible Church, where she faithfully attended and served her Lord. Rosie was preceded in death by her husband, Menno, son Jon, and five brothers and sisters. She is survived by daughter-in-law Susan Regier, daughters Rosalyn (Kevin Malamma), Rebecca (Dan Wilkinson), grandchildren Jon and Lydia Malamma, Joel Malamma, Jordan (Cole Scritchfield), Marc Regier, Jesse and Courtney Wilkinson, Heidi (Mike Hartnell), 6 (almost 7) great- grandchildren, sister Salome Funk, sister-in-law Juanita Nord, and numerous nieces and nephews. We offer extra thanks to Kay Kapler, a special family friend. Rosie's favorite verse was: Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your path. Graveside services will be held Friday, May 31st, 10:00 a.m., at Greenlawn Mortuary, 3700 River Blvd. A Celebration of Life will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Heritage Bible Church, 2323 Mt. Vernon Avenue.
