Ruby Marie Tablet Obituary
Ruby Marie Tablet January 2, 1921 - December 13, 2013 Visitation for Ruby Marie Tablet will be held at Basham Funeral Care (3312 Niles Street) on Wednesday, December 18, 2013 from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. Interment will be held at Parkview Cemetery in Manteca, CA on Thursday, December 19, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. Our Beloved Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother, Ruby Marie Tablet, 92 of Delano CA went to be with the Lord on December 13, 2013 with her Family by her side. She was born on the family farm in Overbrook, OK on January 2, 1921 to Andrew and Iva Smith. She was the last of 13 brothers and sisters. She married the late Matthew Tablet in Stockton, CA in 1956, relocated to Richgrove, CA where they lived and raised a family together for 34 years until his death in 1988 at which time she then moved to Delano, CA. Mama, as we all called her, was a devoted Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. She was a homemaker, baker, seamstress, gardener, and would prepare a roast chicken from the chicken pen to the table. She was passionate about the Traditional Holidays because she knew all her family would be coming home. It was Thanksgiving that she always prepared the biggest turkey she could find. She especially enjoyed Christmas where she made sure that each and every family member had a gift under her tree but the best gift of all was Christ's sacrificial love she gave to all she knew and met. She was very patriotic celebrating Independence Day carrying the Spirit of 76 to us from her direct Great-great-great-great-great Grandfather Michael Tanner. He served in the American Revolutionary War who was present at the surrender of Cornwallis. She is survived by her sons Billy, James, Kenneth (Pam), David, Robert (Cecilie), Matthew (Rene) and daughters Cathy (Robert), Ruby (Thomas), Lily (Joe) and many Grandsons, Granddaughter, Diane, numerous Great-Grandsons and Great-Granddaughters, with two on the way. Her selfless Legacy of Love and Service that we all cherish will live on. She's at home in the heavenly realm now with all our precious loved ones preceding her in death and until that day we meet her again, will live on in our hearts.
