Ruth A. Howell Obituary
Ruth A. Howell January 13, 1934 - May 10, 2012 Ruth "Ruthie" Howell, daughter of Robert and Dorothy Watkins, was born January 13, 1934 in Madera, CA. Ruth passed away at the age of 78 in Lake Elsinore, CA on May 10, 2012 with her grandsons William, Michael, Dustin and his wife Tara, near her side. She was an amazing and inspirational sweetheart who will be dearly missed. Ruth lived most of her life in Bakersfield, CA and was famous for her "Ruthie Burgers" at Banachecks. In December 2011, she moved to Lake Elsinore, CA to live with her grandsons, William and Michael and her great granddaughter, Allie. Ruth thoroughly enjoyed her last months recording fun videos with Allie, watching Allie play sports, going out to eat, going to Venice Beach, sitting in the spa and even having her hair dyed. We can't forget the lights and sounds the slot machines made, which lit up her eyes, every time she visited a casino. She loved to be surrounded by family, and enjoyed Tara's cooking! Ruth is survived by her daughter and best friend Vicki Alexander and son-in-law Bill Alexander; son JD Howell and wife Linda. Grandsons William Alexander, Michael Tucker, Dustin Alexander and wife Tara, Kennith Wells and his fiance Cheyenne; great grandchildren Allie, Krista, Faith and Brayden; and many nieces and nephews; and extended family. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Howell; biological father, Robert Watkins; mother and step-father Dorothy and Lee Adams; daughter Sherry Leslie, son David Howell and, amazing friend, Ivan. Per Ruth's request, no services will be held. Her wishes were to have her family and friends gather for food, share memories and enjoy company. Will be held on June 2, 2012 from 1PM - 3PM. Call Tara at 661-616-8509 NLT May 30, 2012 for more details. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to assist with uncovered costs to Chase Bank Acct. #874695414. www.bakersfield.com/obits
