Ruth N. Youngblood, 83, returned to her heavenly home on April 26, 2016, after a brief battle with lung cancer, with her family by her side. Her devotion to her family and her firm belief in God supported her through her struggle and gave her peace.
Ruth was born in Bakersfield, CA, on September 13, 1932. She was the youngest of five children. At the age of 14, she met the love of her life, Ernie. One year later, they were married on September 10, 1948. They began their family in 1951, when the first of their three children was born.
Ruth loved cooking, camping, playing cards, spending time with her grandchildren, Sunday dinners, church, and her nightly double scoop of ice cream.
She will be remembered for being a faithful wife, loving mother, caring grandmother, and a gracious friend.
Ruth leaves behind to cherish her memories: daughters, Patti League, Cathy Gonzales and her husband Monty; her daughter-in-law, Cheryl Youngblood; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was looking forward to meeting her Maker and being reunited with her husband, Ernie, and her son, Michael.
Pallbearers: Steven Youngblood, Dion Salazar, Jason Sabol, Eric Walker, Ron Warkentin, and Brock Bivens. Honorary: Monty Gonzales, Hudson Sabol, Nolan Salazar, and Ross Hough.
