Sally Doris Fote (Peoples) April 28, 1930 - March 19, 2012 Sally was a native of Bakersfield, elder daughter of John E. Peoples III and Alice Thornber Peoples. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, her husband of 44 years, Gerald L. Fote, and her sister, Coyla Pechnik. Sally is survived by daughter Gail Gholz Heisey, daughter Gina McGlothin (David), nieces Linda Gerber, Sandra Schwartz and Lori Wright, grandchildren Nathan Gholz (Sara), Laurel Gholz, and Matt McGlothin (Joy), and great- grandchildren Emmalee, Maci, Sophia and Natalie Gholz. Sally graduated from Kern Union High School in 1948. She held several jobs, but mostly talked about her job at JC Penney on Chester Avenue, as an elevator operator, and her job at the Kern County Assessor's Office, where she was able to work with her mother. The last job she had was the most important job, being a housewife and mother. She loved her family very much. Many fond memories were made every summer at the Greenhorn Mountain Cabin. She also enjoyed gardening, reading, attending Navy League dinners with Gail, and camping with the family. The last few months of her life were spent at Pacifica Senior Living, where she was well taken care of and, made good friends. John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him, shall not parish, but have eternal life. (NIV) John 14:6 Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. (NIV) Our hope and prayers are that we will see her again in Heaven. We love you, Mom. Sally will be interred in a private ceremony at Union Cemetery. Memorial services will be held at Riverlakes Community Church, 4301 Calloway Drive on Thursday, April 5, 2012 at 10:00AM. www.bakersfield.com/obits
