Sandie was born in Richmond, California to Jim and Jeri McCoy. She later was joined by her sister, Kathy Mills, and later, Jim Junior. She graduated from North High School in 1958, and met Jim Smith, and they married in 1960. In 1981 they parted ways, and she met the next love of her life, William "Mac" McFadden, and after getting married in 1986, she joined Mac and moved up to Poso Flat, California, where they lived until 2009. She loved the mountains, and loved Sarrett Ranch that they took care of. She worked for Vons for 21 years, and upon retiring she found Jesus and began attending New Life Center with her daughter, and following her daughter she went through the School of Ministry program, graduated, and joined the team to plant the next church, Neighborhood Bible Church (now Lifepoint Church). There she joined a new ministry called "Lost and Found" and worked to serve meals to the homeless and street people. Jesus gave her a deep love for people who were struggling. At home she was a fabulous quilter and loved crafts of all kinds and loved her garden.
She is preceded in death by her father and mother, Jim and Jeri McCoy, husband William McFadden, and close friend Jack Sarrett.
She is survived by her daughter, Christina Van Dyke and husband Kenneth, son Steven Smith and wife Kathy, grandchildren Robert Bassett, Amanda and Becca Smith, sister Kathy Mills and husband Royce, Jim McCoy and wife Debra. She was deeply loved and will be deeply missed by all.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2014 at Lifepoint Church, 4101 Patton Way, Bakersfield, at 11:00am with potluck to follow.
