Wake Services for Serenity Castillo will be held Sunday, 5/31/15 at the Apostolic Assembly Church, 519 Mount Vernon Ave, 6:30 pm. Viewing at 5:30 pm, Funeral Service will be on 6/1/15 followed by Graveside Service at Greenlawn Cemetery, River Boulevard.
Serenity and her faithful companion "Coco" were called home to be with the Lord on May 24, 2015.
Serenity was born on February 21, 1995, in Bakersfield, California to Jesus and Alice Castillo. Serenity was a very special person right from the start. She attended Bakersfield Apostolic Faith Academy and made many life long friends. Her humor and unconditional love left a lasting impression on both classmates and staff.
Serenity was filled with the Holy Ghost and baptized in Jesus name according to Acts 2:38 by Pastor Sal Mercado at the age of 12. She is a 2012 graduate of Tierra Del Sol High School. Serenity was a proud employee of Wells Fargo Bank for the past 2 years. Her Managers, Co-Workers, and customers loved her humor, professionalism, and caring personality, they expressed she will be greatly missed.
Serenity had a gift of listening and advising her friends and family in a nonjudgmental manner. Some of her favorite pass times and hobbies include playing the guitar, relaxing at the beach, writing poetry, and art. She was very loving and nurturing to her nephew Blue, niece Marley, and cousins Savannah and Carmen. Family, friends, and co-workers described her as being loyal, joyful, genuine, intuitive, independent, inspirational, prudent, spontaneous, dependable, motivated and that she had a meek spirit, to say the least.
Serenity is preceded in death by her maternal grandmother Carmen Camarillo. She is survived by her parents Jesus and Alice Castillo, Brothers Domingo, Jesse, Nagi and Andrew Castillo, Sisters Malicka and Jazmin Castillo. She is also survived by the love of her life boyfriend, Rolando Herrera, Maternal Grandparents Daniel and Henrietta Camarillo and paternal grandparents Antonio and Carmelita Castillo. She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Serenity will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
