Shauna R. Sipe Coffman Obituary
Shauna R Sipe Coffman August 30, 1962 - April 27, 2013 We are all mourning the sudden passing of our sweet Shauna. She was born in Barstow and raised in Bakersfield. She graduated with honors from BHS in 1980. As a student there she was in the Driller band, a champion on the swim team, was active in student government and excelled in art having several of her pieces displayed in the Icon publication. Shauna also acquired many trophies for her outstanding athletic achievements in softball and cycling. She enjoyed being in the FFA and kept busy raising and showing champion sheep. She always surrounded herself with animals and loved grooming and training dogs. She leaves behind her own trained services companion, Hunter. After graduation she flew to Norway and lived with a family there. She met king Olaf, learned Norwegian painting and it didn't take long for her to converse fluently in their language. She married Steven Coffman and was later divorced. During this time she obtained her cosmology license and was selected by Paul Mitchell, who flew her to Hawaii to be his personal model. He adored working with her "gorgeous red hair." Shauna loved the beach and spent many summers there with her family. She could always be found somewhere along the beach or in the ocean. She eventually moved to the beach in 2000. Shauna loved the gospel of Jesus Christ and had a strong testimony of her faith. She leaves behind her daughter, Lauren Bensusan and 2 grandsons and a son, Ian Coffman. She also leaves her Mother Nina Sipe Russell; three sisters, Michelle (Mike) Garretson, Sheila (John) Howard, Sonja (Rod) Pappas; and a brother Douglas Sipe; along with her loving Nieces and Nephews. Preceding her in death is her son Noel Coffman, her father Ray Sipe, and half-brother Steve Sipe. She has gone home to her Heavenly Father and her family there where she is at peace and we know we will see her again. Visitation will be held from 4pm to 7pm on Monday, May 13, 2013 at Cecil Martin Family Funeral Care a Cherished Memories Provider. 701 34th Street, Bakersfield.
