Steven Thomas Gluyas Obituary
Steven Thomas Gluyas passed away in Bakersfield, California on March 18, 2015 after his 4 year hard fought and brave battle with cancer. Steve was a long time manager and foreman for Occidental Oil in Bakersfield, Ca. and Fillmore, Ca., and had dedicated his professional life to the Oilfield Services business at Occidental in Bakersfield, Vintage Petroleum in Ventura and Fillmore, Veco Inc., MMR Electrical and EIC Electrical in Gaviota and Lompoc.
Steve was born in San Luis Obispo on May 13, 1967 and was a High School graduate from Righetti High School in 1985 and attended classes at Allan Hancock College in Santa Maria, Ca. He took great pride in his work, was a dedicated experienced professional, loved to cook, fish, follow sports, enjoy movies, discuss politics and most of all to spend time with his family and friends, and take care of his beloved pets.
He is survived by his wife, Deanna Gluyas, his daughter Brandi Gluyas, his son Jesse Gluyas, his mother and father, Donna E. Gluyas and Donald E. Gluyas, his brother Michael Gluyas, sister in law, Gina Gluyas and nephews Davis Gluyas and Caden Gluyas, his uncle Ron Gluyas, aunt Inez Gluyas, cousins Brad Gluyas, Bob Gluyas, two step sons Mitchell Wright and Spensor Wright, and many cousins, family members and friends.
Graveside Services will be held at Santa Maria Cemetery on Thursday, March 26, 2015 at 11:00 a.m., with a Celebration of Life to immediately follow the services. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Marley's Mutts
or to the Optimal Hospice Foundation.
