Susan Ann Mason Obituary
Susan Ann Mason 1952 - 2013 Susan Ann Mason was born on March 22, 1952 in Bakersfield, and remained here her entire life. She was the baby of our family and what a beautiful one she was. She worked hard and loved her work and could fix anything from; installing new floors, setting new tiles, doing plumbing, installing appliances, and so much more. She wanted desperately to go back to work but her illness prevented her from doing so. She was married to Cliff Ivey right out of high school and together they had their daughter Jennifer. Susan was the daughter of Carl and Mary Hedges. She was preceded by her mother and father, her brother Charles Bartlett, and all of her brother-in-laws, and her husband Kenneth Mason. She leaves behind her daughter Jennifer, and her five grandchildren, Kayla Murphy of Bakersfield, Shawn Murphy of Oregon, and Seth David and Isabell Branagan, and her great grandchild, Serenity Livingston. She also leaves her four sisters, Dolores Erberich and Antoinette Guillory of Bakersfield, Gloria Peterson of Pacific Grove, and Joanna Clark of Long Beach, CA, and also her sister- in-law Linda Bartlett of Bakersfield. Susie's sisters would like to thank Brenda Foster for her love and caring devotion to Susie through her sickness and also Chris Sholar. There are no words to express our gratitude to you both. Susie put up a courageous fight against ovarian cancer for five years, and she bravely accepted the fact that there was no more to be done. She quietly packed her bags and left for Heaven into the waiting arms of our Heavenly Father. Susie has embarked on her new journey free of pain and will be greatly missed by all she has left behind. She was looking forward to being with her mother and father and loving husband Kenny once more. We will never forget you little sister, we will always love you. The best is yet to come Susie. Inspite of her ordeal she faced the finality of her illness with dignity and grace. Please remember to give to Hoffmann Hospice and the in remembrance of our little Susie. As you lay sleeping in your bed, God softly kissed your cheek. Quietly, he whispered "My child please come with Me." I've come to take you home again, your job here is finally done. I need a special Angel. You are the chosen one. Take a deep and final breath, as I release your soul. Watch over those you hold so dear, protect them from the cold. memories treasured dearly, will take the place of pain. Losing you was hard to bear, and tear drops left their stain. Now you are their angel, each step of the way. In the hearts of those you love, now you'll always stay. Written by Susan Mason 6/07 www.bakersfield.com/obits
