SUZANNE WINSLOW POND EGGLESTON

1930 - 2016 Obituary Condolences
SUZANNE WINSLOW POND EGGLESTON Obituary
Suzanne Winslow Pond Eggleston was born August 4, 1930 to Perry and Mary Pond in Santa Cruz, California, and passed November 14, 2016. She met Harold Eggleston and had a whirlwind romance that spawned a lifetime of memories. She was a devoted wife, who stood by her husband through the completion of his teaching credential. They made their home in Bakersfield, after Harold was hired at South High School. Suzanne wanted to have children and after their first born, David, they chose to do foster care. Several years later they had 3 more children: Perry, James and Mary. She was a devoted stay at home mom. Suzanne began to attend church. She and Hal chose to follow Jesus Christ and their lives were transformed forever. Suzanne was an avid reader, sometimes reading 2 and 3 books at time. She was a faithful prayer warrior and read God's word daily.
Her
"Daily Bread"
was well worn and the last verse content was Romans 15:1-7 reminding us,
"Our unity comes from our union in Christ."
She is preceded by her parents Perry and Mary Pond. She is survived by her beloved husband, Harold Eggleston; brother Gardner Pond (Ed); Children: David Eggleston (Debbie), Perry Eggleston (Sherry), James Eggleston (Judy), and Mary Higgins; many grandchildren: Andrew, Nicholas, Michael, Austin, Tyler, Christopher, Abigail, Dayleen, Dujeau, Trina, Kelly, Kyle, Troy, and Great grandchildren: Chasidy, Zevon, Micheal, Liam, Alyssabeth, Mikey, Raechel, Ava, Eliana, Natalie, Lydia, Kallie, Kimeree, Kaitlyn, Jase,
Jude 1:20 directs us to a life path, which Suzanne epitomized until Our Lord ushered her into the eternal life. We ought not cry too long, for she is surely singing in a vibrant choir worshipping Jesus. Her favorite Bible verse was Revelation 21:4,
"He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away."
Services will be at Valley Baptist Church, 4800 Fruitvale Avenue, Bakersfield, CA, in the main sanctuary on Friday, November 18, 2016 at 10:00 AM, with a meal to follow. In lieu of flowers please give to her favorite charity: The Hope Center, 3311 Manor Street, Bakersfield, CA 93308, Phone: (661) 399-2119.
