Tammey Ellen Grealish Obituary

June 13, 1960 - January 10, 2019

Tammey Ellen Grealish was born in Bakersfield on June 13, 1960 and went to be with the Lord on January 10, 2019. Clutching the hand of her daughter and surrounded by her family, she took her last breath and shed the demons that haunted her on earth and fell into the loving arms of her savior.

Tammey was born to John and Bonnie Grealish. She was the youngest of three children and the only daughter. Tammey had a free spirit and had a passion for people. It was a family joke that Tammey never met a stranger. When on camping trips with her family, as they set up camp, she was busy introducing herself to the other occupants of the campground. She made new friends everywhere she went.

This was a quality that followed her into adulthood. Her love for people and animals continue to grow. She took in any stray who had the good fortune to knock on her door. Tammey housed and fed anyone who was cold or hungry despite their circumstance.

She was the mother of two, Thomas and Summer. However, many referred to her as "Mom".

Tammey was preceded in death by her parents, John and Bonnie Grealish and brother Thomas Grealish.

She leaves behind her husband Ernie Castaneda, son Thomas Grealish-Burgess, daughter Summer Grealish-Snyder, Grandson Thomas Burgess Jr, granddaughter Alizah Sanders, Brother John Grealish Jr, aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces and friends.

A celebration of Tammey's life will be held next week at Hill Crest Memorial Park.
