Thelma L. Hale Obituary
Thelma L. Hale was born September 11, 1920, in Clay County, IL to Ernest and Ethel Lutz Martin. Before her first birthday, the family moved to California and she resided here until her death on August 8, 2015. She graduated from KCUHS in 1938. She married Norvle L. Hale on December 15, 1943, and was predeceased by him, her parents and her two sisters and brother.
She is survived by daughters Ginger and Chuck Mello, their children Kim Saldana, Tony Mello and Kathy Blackmer and their four children, and by Jean and Mike Williams and their children Melanie Maddox and MGySgt. Steve Williams, USMC, and their seven children as well as many nieces and nephews, and her church family.
She retired from Porterville State Hospital as a Psychiatric Technician.
Visitation will be held at Doughty, Calhoun, O'Meara Mortuary, 1100 Truxtun Ave, Bakersfield on Thursday, August 13, 2015, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Services will be graveside at Tehachapi Eastside Cemetery Friday, August 14, 2015 at 1 p.m. To reach the cemetery, take the western exit into Tehachapi from Hwy. 58. Turn left at the first intersection and follow Tehachapi Blvd. through town to Dennison Rd. Turn left on Dennison Road, continuing over Hwy. 58, to the cemetery located on your left.
