Thomas Crandall Bevier

Tom was born in Detroit Michigan to Dr. Foster William and Marjorie Crandall Bevier. He was raised in Alma, Michigan and graduated from Michigan State University with a BS in Geology. Tom was a member of Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity. Upon graduation he spent two years in Korea as a Lt. in the United States Army. After discharge Tom moved to San Francisco where he met and married Amanda Harrison. They came to Bakersfield with Standard Oil in 1968. After leaving Standard Oil Tom went to work for the Kern County Assessors Office.
Tom started playing golf when he was eight years old. He greatly enjoyed his Golf Memberships with the Men's Association in Incline Village, Nevada and for Twenty-Four years with Stockdale Country Club. Tom was also a member of the Huguenot Historical Society and the Bevier-Elting Association.
Tom is survived by his wife of fifty-three years, Amanda and his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. His two daughters and their families live in Bakersfield Amanda Gillies and her sons Andrew and Macpherson. Suzen Marie Smale and her husband Eric and their son David and daughter Kate. His son Adam and his wife Kenna and their son Daniel Newshutz and his wife Jessica and their sons Madden and Cole of Lakewood, Ohio. His brother William Richard Bevier of Florida. Tom also leaves behind his dear friend Mary Rubacaldo.
Our family wishes to express its gratitude to the MICU II staff of San Joaquin Community Hospital. Their compassionate guidance was wonderful.
