Tomas O. Guerrero Sr. Obituary
Tomas O. Guerrero Sr., 79, of Seguin, TX, died Thursday, Dec. 4, 2014 at Guadalupe Regional Hospital. He was born in Sebastian, TX on August 12, 1935 and moved to Bakersfield, CA in 1964. Since 2006, he has resided at his beloved little ranch in Seguin, TX. Tomas proudly served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged on March 31, 1964 with a rank of Sergeant SP5.
He obtained his Associate of Arts Degree at Bakersfield College in May of 1976.
Tomas retired from the Kern County Roads Department after 25 years of service. He was a member of the Polka Dawgs of San Antonio, TX.
Tomas is survived by his 5 children: Diana, Tomas Jr., Leticia, Ruben, and Juanita; brothers Carlos, Antonio, Joe; sisters, El Vira, Berta, Maggie, Mary, Marta, 11 grand children and 6 great grand children. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Josefina, mother, Juanita Olivarez, father, Antonio F. Guerrero, stepmother, Guadalupe, sister Adelina Morado, and brother Raul.
Viewing to be held at Basham Anspach Mortuary, 620 Oregon St. on Thursday, Dec. 11, 2014 from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Catholic mass is scheduled for Friday Dec. 12 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help,124 Columbus Ave. Monsignor Mike to officiate. Internment at Union Cemetery, 730 Potomac Ave. following the ceremony- all in Bakersfield, CA. Pallbearers include his sons and first born grandsons, Tomas Jr., Tomas St. Michael, Ruben, Ruben Jr., Daniel Tomas Ulloa, and James Neubauer Jr. Honorary pallbearer Isaac Candolita.
A special thank you to his companion Adele Hernandez. You kept each other laughing. We love you dearly.
