Tony R. Gallegos "The Don" June 14, 1930 - July 11, 2013 Tony was born in Bakersfield to parents Victor and Maria Gallegos on June 14, 1930. Tony resided in Bakersfield for 83 years and attended Jefferson Elementary, Washington Jr. High and graduated from East High, class of 48'. Immediately following high school Tony enlisted in the Army National Gaurd to protect our homeland during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged after 9 years of service. He went on to own his own business, A-1 Meats, for 10 years. Tony retired as a delivery driver after 50 years. He was an active member of the American Legion and Fraternal Order of Eagles. He loved opera, classical music, sports, animals and driving fast until he retired his keys. He kept his faith in God until he left us on July 11, 2013. He was preceded in death by Carmen Gallegos, his wife of 49 years; his son Ray Anthony Gallegos; his parents; 5 brothers; and 2 sisters. He is survived by daughters Cynthia and Katrina Gallegos; sister Adeline Barreraz; brother Henry Gallegos; 8 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. July 19th at Greenlawn Memorial Chapel, 3700 River Blvd. Services will be 10 a.m July 20th, Tehillah Ministries, 3515 Mt.
