Vera David Milazzo Obituary
Vera passed away on October 28th, after an active life of 99 years. She was born in Lampasas, Texas welcomed by parents, Etta Sullivan David and R David. In 1920 the family came to California.
Vera grew up on the family farm (Vineland Road) with her siblings, "nine children". Vera attended Vineland School and Kern County Union High School. She married Thomas Lane and they had one son Robert Thomas Lane. Vera and Alfred Milazzo were married in 1952 welcoming his children to the family, Paul, Sally, and David. Vera was loved by all who knew her, had a great sense of humor. She always looked forward to our "gals day" lunches, especially on her birthdays at her favorite restaurant Mexicali. She will be greatly missed and leaves many wonderful memories. Vera was employed at Rufeners Drugs for many years prior to owning Lou Ella's Children Shop on Baker Street. Al and Vera purchased Mardi Gras Gift Shop on F Street in 1970 and retired in 1986.
Preceding Vera in death were parents R and Etta David, husband Al, son Robert Lane, daughter Sally, brothers Cecil, George, Boots, Leo and sisters Lola Clendenen and Vada Phoenix. She is survived by Paul ( Claudia) Milazzo, David (Linda) Milazzo, sister Lucy Libby of San Diego and Beverly (Bob) Fowler of Bakersfield; grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Thanks to Lourdes Moreno for years of companionship and Catherine Kiama, and all the ladies at Kramer Serenity for their care and friendships.
There will be no services at Vera's request.
