Vera J. Ketelsen of Wasco, California passed away January 31st in Arroyo Grande, California. She was 98 years old.
Vera was preceded in death in 2012 by her beloved husband of 70 years, Ket. She is survived by her two sons, Gary and Stan, five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Vera was born and grew up in Fowler, California. She graduated from Fresno State College with a teaching degree and immediately started her career teaching elementary school in McFarland, California where she met the love of her life and future husband, Ingwer "Ket" Ketelsen.
After World War II, Ket and Vera settled in Wasco where she taught 3rd grade at Karl Clemens Elementary School for 30 years. While in Wasco, she was an active member of the Wasco United Methodist Church, Delta Kappa Gamma, P.E.O. Chapter JT, the Wasco Women's Club and the Eastern Star. After retiring in 1975, she and Ket enjoyed many years of traveling - both in the United States and abroad.
Family and friends have many fond memories of spending time socializing, teaching, camping and travelling with Vera.

There will be a burial service on February 27th at 11:00am at the Wasco Memorial Cemetery followed by a memorial reception at the Wasco Rose Golf Course clubhouse.
