Victor Fontes March 23, 1930 - June 29, 2012 Victor lost his battle with Cancer on June 29, 2012. Victor was born in Coolidge, Arizona to parents Chris and Carmen Fontes and moved to Bakersfield in 1938. Victor worked for Greyhound Lines for 40 years and retired in July 1986. He became a Master Mason on May 9th, 1969 and was a proud member of the Shriners since September 1978. He served in the US Army from July 1949 - November 1952 and served in Korea from 1951 -1952. Victor will be remembered for his great love for his family. Victor is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Clara Fontes, brother Chris, his 3 sons, Stephen (wife Ronna) Phillip (wife Sherrill) Michael (wife Naomi), his 6 grandchildren, Jamie (husband Joseph Pivovaroff) Tami (husband Nick Dockter) Audrey, Paige, Vincent and Brenton Fontes, and his 3 great grandchildren, Kailyn, Joseph and Ayva Pivovaroff, and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations in Victor's honor be made to the . Services will be held at the National Cemetery at 30338 East Bear Mtn.
