It is with great sadness that the family of Vincent Leo Jurkovich announces his passing on January 16, 2016, at the age of 88.
Vince was born in Porterville to Bob and Nina Jurkovich. He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers, George and Pete Jurkovich.
Vince will be remembered for his hard-working nature and his dedicated work ethic. He was the President of Porterville Concrete Pipe, started by his father in 1918. Vince was also a director emeritus of the Bank of the Sierra.
He was the last surviving member of the original luncheon group of the American Slavonic Social Club in Delano, and a proud member of the All Slavonic American Association established in Fresno in 1904.
Vince will be fondly remembered by his beloved wife, Ruth, his son Nick and Nick's wife Patty, son Steve (late wife Carlene), granddaughters Kristen, Kelly, and Kathleen, along with many nieces, nephews, and loving friends.
Vince enjoyed his time spent at the Central Coast from a young age, working with his two sons in the family business, and visiting with his beloved granddaughters and hearing about their experiences. Another highlight of Vince's life was his trip to Hvar, Croatia, and other parts of Europe, with his wife Ruth and lifelong friend, Kenny Kovacevich.
The entire family is blessed for the gift of Vince's presence in their lives. He lived a long, fulfilling life, and maintained his witty, sharp sense of humor until the very end. He will be remembered and missed always.
