Virginia M. Kyle-Jones, 94, passed away quietly on Thursday, June 2, 2016 In Bakersfield, CA. Virginia was born December 29, 1921, in Lafayette, Indiana to Glenn & Gertrude (Harris) Nay. She grew up in Shafter CA, graduating from Shafter High School. On April 8, 1944 married Norman Kyle & they resided & raised their family in Bakersfield, CA. In 1962 she joined the LDS Church & was a devoted member for the rest of her life. She was an expert seamstress & had an extensive in home business. She operated a Health Food Store & later worked as a Court Clerk for the County. She was an excellent cook & her family fondly remembers her casseroles & desserts. After they retired she & Norman took numerous trips, especially enjoying the beach. On June 14, 1996, she married Culver Jones.
Virginia was preceded by her parents; husband, Norman; husband, Culver; & her granddaughter, Wendy Kyle.
She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Stickler (Craig) of Bakersfield, & sons Byron (Kim) of Fresno, Keith of Layton, UT; daughter Cheryl Smith of Cameron Park & children Rebecca (Art) Hunter of Cameron Park, Noah (Anissa) Smith of Brentwood & Rachel (Kurt) Keyser of Boulder Creek; son Richard Kyle (Marlayne) of Yakima, WA & son, David Kyle, of Portland, OR., also survived by 17 great grandchildren, plus her extended family Lary & Beverly Brown & family.
She was a remarkable woman, mother, wife & friend.
Family wishes to express gratitude to the nurses & staff at Evergreen Healthcare & Hoffman Hospice for the kind & compassionate manner in which they cared for Virginia.
Chapel services will be held on Saturday, June 11th, 10:00 AM, Hillcrest Memorial Park.
