Virginia Shaffer Obituary
Virginia was born on December 16, 1933 in Taft, CA. After a one month courtship in 1955, she married
the love of her life, Dick, and later had three children: Ed, Rick and Cindy. Her family was her life and she loved nothing more than being a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Virginia enjoyed
playing the piano, gardening, praising the Lord, and volunteering her time helping those less fortunate. A longtime member of the West Hills Church of the Nazarene, Virginia will be remembered by many as their Sunday school teacher and Preschool teacher.
Virginia went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 22, 2014. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years in 2011. Virginia is survived
by her children, Ed Shaffer, Rick and Kathryn Shaffer , and Cindy Shaffer; her grandchildren, Tina and Ron Odom, Tiffany Shaffer, Alysha and Mike Gatley, and Shelby Shaffer; her great-grandchildren, Kevin, Tina, Bradley, and Kaitlyn Odom, Cameron Hamilton, Brylee and Hunter Miller, Chance Gatley, and Sara Cummings; and her brother, Ed Norris and his wife, Mary.
In lieu of flowers, Virginia's family requests that random acts of kindness be passed along to others in her memory. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Erickson & Brown Funeral Home. Visitation is scheduled for Sunday, January 26, 2014
at the funeral home from 3:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. A graveside service will be held on Monday, January 27, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the West Side District Cemetery.
